FAQs

Yes. All of our accounts are federally insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration.
The rate of your Share Certificate can be found under "Account Details" on Online and Mobile Banking. If the current rate we offer for your term is higher than the interest rate you are getting paid, and you're eligible for a rate increase, you can send us an email to membership@oasfcu.org requesting your rate increase.
If you are not comfortable with the volatility of the market environment, you can chose a Step-Up Share Certificate, which gives you the option to raise your rate. If our rate goes up, you can raise yours once over the 1-year or 18-month term, and twice over the 2 or 3-year term.
You can open a share certificate in any of the following ways:

You can allow the interest earned to remain in your account (and take advantage of compounding), have the interest transferred to one of the Credit Union accounts, or request that a check be mailed to you.
Additional deposits cannot be made until your term is completed, unless you have a Junior Share Certificate. However, once your Share Certificate matures, you can deposit additional funds once during the grace period.
Yes. There are early withdrawal penalties associated with these type of accounts, which may reduce the principal in the Share Certificate. Please review the Truth in Savings disclosures for information on early withdrawal penalties for our Share Certificates.
We will send you a notification 30 days before your Share Certificate matures. When you receive the notification, you can request a deposit or term change. Your Share Certificate will automatically renew if you don't take any action.
You can find this information in Online and Mobile Banking. Once you login, select the share certificate account you want to review. Under account details, the maturity date of your account will be displayed. You can also send an email to membership@oasfcu.org to request any information about your Share Certificate. In addition, you will receive an automatic notice 30 days prior to the maturity date.

Regular Share Certificate¹: Our simple, yet effective solution. Minimum initial balance of $2500 with term lengths between 3-60 months.

Step-Up Share Certificate²: Step-up your interest rate to a higher one when market rates increase: term lengths between 12-36 months can raise the rate once per term, and terms between 48-60 months can step-up the rate twice.

Junior Share Certificate³: Open an account with a balance between $500-$2,500, then deposit at least $50 each month. Term lengths range between 12-48 months.

Jumbo Share Certificate⁴: Bigger balance, better rates. Earn .05% more on term deposits of $100,000 or more, with a 12 month or longer term.
